Great Room Project: Taking Off The Trim

Since I’m in the blog-posting mood, I’ve decided it’s about time I finished posting pictures of our Great Room Project. It’s only been 2+ years since I left off…

I provide links at the bottom of each post to go to the next one in the series.

April 2006

Two months after we started the Project, we were still pulling off plaster and lathe! One of the last steps was removing the woodwork. The first baseboard Monte pulled off caused us some serious worry. The baseboard had been put on before the flooring, making it nearly impossible to remove it without breakage. Thankfully, only a few short sections were nailed below the floor level. With a little leverage, several tools, and a lot of patience, we got all the trim off with minimal damage.

Monte also knocked out all the plaster between the studs since we were going to put in real insulation.

Maybe we need some help…
