April 2006

Two months after we started the Project, we were still pulling off plaster and lathe! One of the last steps was removing the woodwork. The first baseboard Monte pulled off caused us some serious worry. The baseboard had been put on before the flooring, making it nearly impossible to remove it without breakage. Thankfully, only a few short sections were nailed below the floor level. With a little leverage, several tools, and a lot of patience, we got all the trim off with minimal damage.

Monte also knocked out all the plaster between the studs since we were going to put in real insulation.
