Description: These bars can be made with either pumpkin or applesauce.
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 2 tsp Watkins Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp Watkins Cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp Watkins Ground Cloves
  • 1 16oz can pumpkin or applesauce
  • 1 cup Watkins Original Grapeseed Oil
  • 4 beaten eggs
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
    Mix together dry ingredients. Stir in pumpkin, oil and eggs till thoroughly combined. Stir in walnuts. Spread batter into an ungreased 15x10x1-inch-baking pan. Bake in a 350°F oven for 25 to 30 minutes or till a wooden toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Frost with Cream Cheese Frosting. Cut into bars. Store, covered, in the refrigerator.

    Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 2 3oz packages cream cheese
  • ½ cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 tsp Watkins Double-Strength Vanilla
  • 4½ to 4¾ cups powdered sugar

    In a large mixing bowl beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla with an electric mixer on medium to high speed till light and fluffy. Gradually beat in enough of the powdered sugar to make the frosting of spreading consistency.
