Recipe Name: Candied Yams with Five-Spice Powder

Description: This recipe uses Watkins Five-Spice Powder, an ancient blend that comes from China and Vietnam.
  • 8 large yams or sweet potatoes, peeled & cut into 1-inch pieces
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 oranges, zested and juiced
  • 1 tbl Watkins Ginger
  • ½ tsp Watkins Five-Spice Powder
  • 4 tbl butter or margarine
    Mix together ingredients in a large baking dish. Bake at 325°F for 1½ hours, or until yams are soft.
