Stain Pro Grease, Tar and Gum Remover

I think Watkins could've come up with a shorter name for this product, but don't let that dissuade you. It's just as amazing as the Rug Cleaner.

Back in December 2002 I reviewed Stain Pro Rug Cleaner, an amazing product that removed a two-year-old stain from my mother's carpet. Now I'm back to review Stain Pro Grease, Tar and Gum Remover. Frankly, I think Watkins could've come up with a shorter name for this product, but don't let that dissuade you. It's just as amazing as the Rug Cleaner.

Basically it's a clothing stain remover that apparently also gets stains out of upholstery and hard surfaces such as Formica, linoleum, ceramics and porcelain. But so far I haven't tried it on anything but clothes.

I had a chance to use it just recently, when I dribbled steak juice on a good pair of pants. Did I immediately pre-soak the stain and wash the pants? Of course not.I threw them in the dirty clothes basket, where they eventually got washed, dried, and put away. I forgot all about the stain until I wore the pants to work. How embarrassing! This time when I got home I put some Stain Pro GTGM on it and let it sit for a while before washing. Did it work?

Of course! But then, I knew it would, because GTGM had already proven itself to be a miracle product. Several years ago I got a grease stain on a sweatshirt (I believe it was cooking oil) and I tried several times to remove it, but none of the products I tried worked. So I gave up and relegated the sweatshirt to "lounging around the house" status. Over the next 3+ years I washed and wore the sweatshirt dozens of times. I figured the stain was set for good.

But after having had such success with the Stain Pro Rug Cleaner, I decided to give the GTGM a try. Lo and behold, it got that old stain out! I am still in awe. Now every time I put the sweatshirt on I have to look in the mirror, because I still can't believe the stain is gone after living with it all these years.

So if you've ruined a few clothing items with food and grease stains, or if you have children, you need Stain Pro Grease, Tar and Gum Remover on hand. It's a stain-removing miracle in a bottle! 4 oz. $6.99.
