If you’ve ever had classic Mexican tortilla soup, you know how difficult that robust, earthy flavor can be to duplicate. Watkins has done it, in an instant soup base that will turn your dinner into a fiesta!
It’s not just for soup! Watkins Mexican Soup and Seasoning Base can be used to spice up meat for tacos or your favorite Mexican dishes. And it makes a fabulous zesty Mexican dip.
Mexican Dip
3 tbl/45 mL Watkins Mexican Soup and Seasoning Base
1 cup/250 mL sour cream
Mix, then chill for at least 1 hour. Serve with tortilla chips or other snacks.
Taco Seasoning
1 lb./450 g lean ground beef or turkey
1/3 cup/80 mL Watkins Mexican Soup and Seasoning Base
3/4 cup/180 mL water
Brown ground beef in large skillet on medium-high heat. Drain fat. Stir in Watkins Mexican Soup and Seasoning Base and water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Use for tacos, burritos, enchiladas and other Mexican dishes. Now we're talking spicy!
