Watkins to stop production of Supercold Tablets.
As you may be aware, several states have recently enacted laws restricting access to cough and cold products in an attempt to reduce the availability of ingredients used to manufacture illegal drugs such as methamphetamine. Many states now allow sales of products containing pseudoephedrine, a common ingredient in cough and cold products, only through a licensed pharmacy. As a result, Watkins Supercold Tablets (02325), which contains pseudoephedrine, can no longer be sold in Arizona, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Montana, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
Additional states have proposed laws that are expected to take effect very soon. Therefore, we will be selling this product only to the extent of inventory, and only in states that do not require sales through a licensed pharmacy. We expect to sell out of this product within a few weeks.
