Watkins on eBay
October Sales
One good thing about having a "day job" is that I have lots of co-workers willing to be smell- and taste-testers. They give great opinions--and by that I don't mean they love all the products! They give great opinions because they're brutally honest about whether they like something or not. Watkins has many wonderful products, but sometimes they have some real duds. Before you place your order, you'll want to know which is which!
So watch my website for upcoming product reviews on the 2004 Gift Line, including Chai Latte Hand Lotion ("the consensus is, it stinks"), Cool Cantaloupe Hand & Body Lotion ("I'm lovin' it") and Vanilla Nut Extract (three people ordered within hours of smelling it.)
What Watkins products do you love? Which ones do you hate? Give me YOUR brutally honest opinions.

Due to recent difficulties with a key supplier, Watkins will discontinue both our Raspberry Cherry Preserves (product #05606) and our Blueberry Raspberry Preserves (product #06505) when our current stock is depleted. We expect to run out of both preserves in October.
We intend to return gourmet preserves to our line in the future when we are assured of consistent supplies that meet our high quality standards. In the meantime, you may substitute other high quality fruit preserves in Watkins recipes that call for these products, including recipes found in Watkins Easy Entertaining Good Tastings Cookbook (product #09452).
Product #05505 Blueberry-Raspberry $US 5.99/$CDN 8.99
Product #05606 Raspberry-Cherry $5.99/$CDN 8.99

Here's an alternative to Apple Crisp that's sure to please a crowd.
Apples:
¾ cup sugar
1 tbl cornstarch
½ tsp Watkins Cinnamon
¾ cup water
5 cups peeled, sliced apples
1½ tsp lemon juice (optional)
2 tbl butter or margarine (optional)
Biscuits:
1¼ cup flour
1½ tsp Watkins Baking Powder
1½ tbl sugar
¼ cup butter or margarine
¼ cup milk
1 beaten egg
Combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and water in large saucepan. Simmer on medium heat until sauce begins to thicken. Add apples, lemon juice and margarine. Simmer until apples are tender.
Meanwhile, combine flour, baking powder, and sugar in bowl. Cut in margarine until mixture is slightly crumbly. Mix milk and beaten egg together and add to flour. Stir to make a stiff dough.
Pour apples and sauce into 9x9 baking dish. Divide dough into golf-ball sized balls. Roll balls between hands and then mash into biscuit shapes. Place biscuits over the apples in a single layer.
Bake in a 400º F oven for 25 minutes, or until biscuits are browned on top.
